, in a joint venture (JV) with ECCO III Enterprises, has signed an $848m contract with the New York City (NYC) Department of Environmental Protection.
The contract is for the Hillview Reservoir Chemical Addition Facilities Construction project in Yonkers, US. Â
The project is a component of the Hillview Reservoir Consent Decree and Judgment.
Hillview Reservoir is a 900-million-gallon reservoir that balances water supply and pressure for NYC.
It manages the flow between the Catskill and Delaware Aqueducts and NYC’s water distribution demands.Â
The latest upgrades will include the addition of two new Chemical Addition Facilities buildings.

Moreover, the project will feature interim structures for chemical systems to monitor water quality and water carry pumps.
The facility will continue to function and supply water to the community as normal throughout the construction period. Â
The project is also aiming for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) v4.1 certification and will use environmentally conscious building practices that focus on energy conservation, indoor air quality, and resource efficiency.Â
Construction on the Hillview Reservoir began last month, with an anticipated completion date set for April 2030. Â
Skanska has announced that its 75% share of the JV contract, amounting to $630m, will be included in its US order bookings for the third quarter of 2024. Â
In July this year, Skanska received two contracts across the US and the UK, worth a combined $210m.Â
These include the redevelopment of 7 Millbank in London, UK, with Baola Properties, representing Old Park Lane Management, and another with Columbia Memorial Hospital for a hospital expansion project in Astoria, US.Â
