Alimak Hek is proud to announce that a new regional sales office located in Brazil will open on 1 January 2011. To support the set-up and development of this operation, Pepe Olguin, who is currently the global offshore / LNG manager within the group, has been appointed managing director for Alimak Hek Brazil. Pepe is well-known within the group and has worked successfully for many years in developing sales in all areas of our business. In particular, he brings extensive experience in the development of industrial sales.

In Brazil, Alimak Hek will initially focus on the development of new unit sales in both industrial and construction markets. This will cover sales to companies, contractors and rental fleet operators in construction and sales to major customer segments in industrial for example petrochemical, power, cement etc. After-sales support will also be a significant part of our offering with the gradual introduction of a complete range of services as the installed base develops. The office will be staffed with engineers to support new unit sales efforts with the progressive development of after-sales capabilities during 2011. The operation will provide support for the entire Latin American region from its base in Brazil.

Pepe’s experience in both the industrial and construction segments will enable us to provide enhanced support to all Alimak Hek entities and our distributor partners in the region. This will allow us to increase our market share and provide our customers with higher service levels.

Patrik NolÃ¥ker, Alimak Hek Group CEO says: “The establishment of a regional operation in Brazil is an important step in implementing our global strategy, with strong presence in all major regions and countries globally. Much of the future economic growth will be in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and it is important that Alimak Hek is well positioned in these countries. The Brazilian market and many other countries in Latin America are currently experiencing significant economic growth and we have to leverage this by ensuring that we are close and easy to reach.”
